Eight players from Wyoming Area and two from Pittston Area have been selected to play in the UNICO All-Star Football Game Nov. 26 at Wyoming Area’s Jake Sobeski Stadium.
The teams will be split into Miners and Pioneers.
Wyoming Area and Pittston Area are part of the Miners team, which will be coached by Rich Mannello from Dallas.
Paul Wiedlich Jr. from GAR will coach the Pioneers.
If Wyoming Area – or any other team – advances to the state playoffs, its players will not be able to participate in the game.
The Wyoming Area players selected are: two-way linemen Andrew Bartoli, Kyle Carr and Tristen Sokach-Minnick; offensive linemen Antonio Koshinski and John Rubino; tight end/defensive end Dante DeLuca; quarterback/wide receiver Steve Homza, and running back/defensive back Brian Miles.
Tight end/linebacker Chris Dudek and defensive lineman Josh Mawson were selected from Pittston Area.
Players from Crestwood, Dallas, Hanover Area, Hazleton Area, Tunkhanock and Wyoming Valley West are also part of the Miners squad.
The Pioneers are made up of players from Berwick, Coughlin, GAR, Holy Redeemer, Lake-Lehman, Meyers, Nanticoke and Northwest.
The George Curry Trophy will be presented to the game’s Most Valuable Player.
