Greater Pittston Sports Briefs: King’s College Lady Mondarch Basketball Camp begins July 24

Lady Monarch basketball camp is July 24-27

WILKES-BARRE — King’s College Lady Monarch Girls Basketball Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, July 24 through Thursday, July 27 at King’s College.

Camp is open to girls ages 8 to 16.

Registration includes T-shirt, games, instruction, and pool-time daily.

Stan Waleski Basketball Camp is July 24-28, July 31-Aug. 4

LAFLIN — Openings are available for the July 24 through 28 and July 31 through Aug. 4 iterations of Stan Waleski Basketball Camp for boys and girls in second through eighth grade. The camp is held daily from 9 a.m. to noon at St. Joseph Oblates gym, 1880 Route 315 Highway. Players can attend one or both camp weeks.

Participants will be grouped by age and gender. The camp stresses skills, fundamentals, competitions, team play and fun with all players receiving a camp certificate and shirt.

PA football players and parents meeting July 31

YATESVILLE — There will be a meeting for all Pittston Area Patriots football players and parents at 6 p.m. Monday, July 31 in the Cefalo Center.

This will be an informational meeting about media day on Saturday, Aug. 5 and upcoming fund raisers.

Program ads can be handed in at any practice to a coach at the Cefalo center. The final collection of program ads will be on media day.

PA Basketball Boosters meeting Aug. 2

PITTSTON — The Pittston Area Boys Basketball Booster Club will hold a parents meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2 at Red Mill, 340 S. Main St.

1st Lt. Jeffrey DePrimo Memorial Foundation Golf Tournament is Aug. 12

WILKES-BARRE — The 1st Lt. Jeffrey DePrimo Memorial Foundation at the Luzerne Foundation will host is Ninth Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 12 at the Wilkes Barre Municipal Golf Course.

Registration is at 7 a.m. with a Captain and Crew format. Tee off is 8 a.m.

Cost is $75 per golfer which includes riding cart, 18 holes of golf, followed by dinner and awards.

Early registration is encouraged to ensure proper shirt size. Registration can be completed at www.deprimogolf.com.

Avoca AOH golf tournament is Sept. 2

TAYLOR — The Avoca Ancient Order of Hibernians will sponsor the Thomas P. Durkin Memorial Open on Saturday, Sept. 2 at Pine Hills Country Club with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.

Cost is $90 per golfer which includes cart, green fees, prizes and dinner. Gibbons Ford will sponsor a 2017 For for the first hole-in-one.
