Little League registration ongoing

DURYEA — Duryea Little League is conducting its online registration for the 2017 season online.

To sign up, go to duryealittleleague.com and click the registration link.

Registration is open until Tuesday, Feb. 7.

WA Lacrosse parents meeting Feb. 8

EXETER — There will be a Wyoming Area Lacrosse parents meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8 in the Secondary Center, 20 Memorial St.

Future fundraising plans will be discussed which include bagging for donations at both Gerrity’s locations on Saturday Feb. 11, local business bingo and pizza sale in March and the first corn hole tournament that will be held in May.

The organization is also looking at organizing a bus trip to see Ohio State vs. Penn State womens lacrosse in April as well as Notre Dame vs. Army mens lacrosse at West Point in May.

Parents of students signed up are to attend these meetings. Any student interested in playing this upcoming season will need to fill out registration forms as well as participate in the buyout option prior to the beginning of the season.

Candy or buyout fees can be turned in at the meeting. Additional candy will be available for pickup.

Parents of players who have not signed up yet are to attend and sign up their child at the meeting.

West Pittston LL registrations

WEST PITTSTON — West Pittston Little League will hold registration in the boardroom above the stand the following dates and time: Wednesday, Feb. 8; 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 11; 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12.

Registration is $75 for the first child, with an additional amount of $30 for a second child in the same family and $20 for any additional children in the same family after that. The registration fee covers the child’s hat, shirt, pants and socks. There is an additional $50 per family for the fundraiser.

Bring three proofs of residence, including one utility bill and two other forms, such as vehicle registration, insurance card, voter registration, school records or medical records.

The league is also looking for gently used equipment to be donated, such as spikes, a helmet or glove.

Teeball, baseball and softball registrations upcoming

EXETER — The Wyoming/West Wyoming Little League will hold spring registrations for teeball through major divisions of baseball and softball, along with junior and senior baseball and junior softball.

Registrations will be held at MVP Sports Academy, 1950 Wyoming Ave. from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Feb. 8. and Saturday, Feb. 11.

The leagues are also promoting a free glove for all first time sign ups in our league from the teeball through major divisions of baseball and softball.

Little League registration

PITTSTON — Pittston City Little League will hold 2017 registrations every Saturday and Sunday during the month of February with the exception of Sunday, Feb. 5.

Registration times at noon to 2 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 3 p.m. Sundays. Sign ups are help in the press box at the field. Players should provide three proofs of residency and a birth certificate.

Fees are as follows: T-ball, $30; Coach Pitch, $60; Minors, $65; Majors, $65; and Juniors/Seniors, $100.

All levels of play will all be required to pay a $25 fundraising fee at time of registration.

Junior Patriots meeting Feb. 12

PITTSTON — The Pittston Junior Patriots will meet at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 12 at SB’s Riverview Pizza, 188 N. Main St.

Football Boosters meeting, night at the races

PITTSTON — The Pittston Area Football Booster Club will hold their next meeting Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. in Pittston Area High School cafeteria, 5 Stout St., Pittston. The meeting topic will be Night at the Races, held 5 p.m. Saturday, March 25 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 237 William St., Pittston.

Horses can be purchased from any football player for $15. Cost includes the horse and admission for one adult. This is a 21-and-over event.

The booster club is seeking race sponsors, food donations, basket donations and volunteers for the event. For more information, visit pafootballboosterclub.com.

Softball league seeks players

OLD FORGE — The Moosic-Old Forge Mens Slow Pitch Wooden Bat Softball League is looking for two new teams for this upcoming season.
